Director Certificates
The Florida HOA statute requires that HOA Board Members (Directors) receive a state-approved, 4-hour initial education course within 90 days of being elected or appointed to the Board. In addition, Directors must take a state-approved, 4-hour continuing education course each subsequent year they remain on the board. Initial Course
New board members must take a 4-hour, state-approved, "initial" course within 90 days of being elected or appointed to the board. After the initial education course, all board members must take a 4-hour, state-approved, "continuing education" course annually.
Our board members are most often elected at the annual meeting in October of each year, and typically take their initial training in January of the following year. (If our new board members take the initial education before January, they must take a continuing education course in the next calendar year following their election. By deferring the initial education until January, they do not need to take the continuing education course until the second calendar year after their election.)
